Is it possible to find free Scottish genealogy records? - scotland genealogy

Is there a website that has a long list free birth certificates from more than 150 years. Perhaps a website that records of Niddrie, Edeinburghshire, Scotland, or may contain in Aberdeen, Scotland?

"Historical" birth records, ie those more than 100 years old, are availble online on a pay-per-view basis at the official website www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
That's also where to go for Marriages, Deaths, OPR's and Census Returns.
Hope this helps

You can find information on the equivalent of Scotland FreeBMD linked below

You can also try a mailing list for free Rootsweb (2. join link) or a part of the follow links on Cyndi's List (3 links)

Edinburgh is not a church, which is the administrative capital of Scotland. Niddrie is a suburb of the city.

Good luck.

www.worldvitalrecords.com / Scotland-life ... has a list of places where documents can be viewed or ordered, including the cost of fresh or notes.
